About the AUG

Who We Are

The Apple Users Group (AUG) is a special interest group of the GVR Computer Club which is a member club of Green Valley Recreation (http://www.gvrec.org). Apple Users comprise about 25% of the GVR Computer Club with the AUG having about 400 members.


Chair of the Mac Maintenance Committee is Brad Brooks. Claire Amato is our librarian and AUG calendar monitor, Ernie Cox, Jr. supplies the content for our weekly AUG meetings, and Kathy Arnold schedules the Mac Lab monitors and moderates the AUG webpage.

When the Group Meets

The Apple Users Group meets every Thursday morning at 9:00 am in the Lecture Room (except for holidays). Our monitored Mac Lab is open during regular Computer Club hours.

What We Offer

Our Mac Lab doesn’t open without one of our dozen or so volunteer monitors and classes are offered by our volunteer facilitators.

Lab Equipment: We currently have 13 Macs: 12 are in the Mac Lab for hands-on and small classes; 1 is in the Photo Lab sharing space with the PC’s. One is on wheels and brought into the Lecture Hall for AUG meetings and large  classes. The MacPro is provided with a VCR and a Dazzle analog/digital bridge for video editing. 


Our other equipment includes an original 1984 Mac, Cube and Classic II, an HP SureColor P600 printer, an Epson 2400 flatbed scanner, an Epson Perfection 4870 scanner, an Epson Perfection  V700, an Epson Perfection V800 an iPad 2, NEW iPad and the new iPad Mini. We also have a 55” Vizio large screen TV with an Apple TV used for classes in the Mac Room.
